    Acacia Forces Patent Licenses, Again

Newport Beach-based patent licensing firm Acacia Technologies said this morning that it has licensed patents involving fraud protection technology to Albertsons, The Bombay Company, and HEB Grocery Company. Acacia had targeted the companies for patent infringement, using its patent portfolio it recently acquired. The patents involved a computer system for tracking customer purchases at retailers. The company said that the technology has already been licensed to a number of other leading retailers. Acacia has aggressively purchasing a portfolio of technology licenses and pursuing licensing and patent infringement lawsuits against companies.
