Accelrys Buys QUMAS

San Diego-based life sciences software maker Accelrys said Monday that it has acquired QUMAS, an Irish developer of cloud-based and on-premise enterprise compliance software for the life sciences industry. Accelrys said it paid approximately $50M in cash for QUMAS, which it says had revenues of $15.2M in 2011 and $19.3M in revenues in 2012. QUMAS develops enterprise software used for regulatory and quality operations in the life sciences and other, highly regulated industries. Accelrys said the move will further extend its portfolio of software.
