    Activision Announces Guitar Hero Sequel

Santa Monica-based video game maker Activision said today that it is rolling out a sequel to the firm's Guitar Hero franchise, Guitar Hero World Tour. The firm said that the new title will add drums, bass guitar, and a microphone to the popular video game title, and will also allow players to play the popular game online. The new title is being developed by Neversoft Entertainment for the Xbox 360 and PLAYSTATIOn 3; the Wii version is being developed by Vicarous Visions; with the PlayStation 2 end being handled by Budcat. New music to be included in the title include tracks from Van Halen, Linkin Park, The Eagles, Sublime, with the ability to download additional music. The new title takes on MTV's rival "Rock Band" game, which was released last November. Guitar Hero was the best selling video game franchise last year. The new title will be available this fall.
