Activision Taps Advertising Agency For Publishing Chief
Santa Monica-based Activision Blizzard announced today that it has named Eric Hirschberg as CEO of its Activision Publishing arm. Hirschberg joins the firm from marketing and advertising firm Deutsch LA, where he was CEO and Chief Creative Officer for the last 13 years. According to the computer gaming firm, HIrschbird will oversee operational management of its studio, product development, and consumer devleopment, taking over from Mike Griffith, who has become Vice Chairman of Activision Blizzard. Activisions said that Hirschberg's prior clients included Sony's PlayStation, Direct TV and HTC, and that he was a "dedicated gamer."
