    AeA Releases High Tech Employment Figures


    The AeA, a technology trade association, released its annual high technology employment report today, the Cybercities 2008. The report shows employment levels in the Los Angeles, Orange County, and San Diego areas of high tech workers, based on 2006 data. According to the AeA, Los Angeles had 172,200 people employed in the high tech industry in 2006, the sixth largest in the nation; Orange County had 100,900 jobs; and San Diego had 106,400, which ranked the area as the nation’s 13th largest cybercity. Nationally, the New York Metro Area, Washington, DC, San Jose/Silicon Valley, Boston, and Dallas-Fort Worth were the ranked as the top cities in terms of high tech employment, wages, employment concentration, and other factors.
