    AeroVironment Gets UAV Win In The Netherlands


    Monrovia, California-based AeroVironment said Friday that the firm has been awarded a contract for its Raven unmanned aircraft systems by The Netherlands Ministry of Defence. According to AeroVironment, the contract is worth $7.7M. AeroVironment's Raven RQ-11B is an unmanned aircraft used by the defense and military; the UAV is currently used by the U.S. armed forces and others for reconnaissance, surveillance, and target acquisition. The company said the deal includes new aircraft systems, training, logistics support, and airworthiness certification. AeroVironment develops unmanned aircraft systems and energy products.
