AeroVironment Wins $36.5M Deal With Australian Defence Force

Monrovia, California-based unmanned aircraft maker Aerovironment reports that it has been selected by the Australia Defence Force, for a contract worth up to $36.5M. AeroVironment said the Australia Defence Force will use its Wasp AE systems for all environment, situational awareness. The three-year contract includes delivery of Wasp AE systems, training, and logistics support for up to ten years. AeroVironment's partners in the contract are Australian companies XTEK, GD Mediaware and Sentient. Aerovironment's Wasp AE drone weighs only 2.8 pounds, and features live streaming video and infrared camera support.
