    Amgen Funds $25M Scholarship Program


    Thousand Oaks-based biotech firm Amgen has rolled out a major scholarship program targeting undergraduates, saying that it has unveiled a $25M eight year program to provide research experience to students interested in pursuing graduate degrees and careers in science. The Amgen Foundation said that ten schools will receive $1M each in the initial phase of its program. Local schools include Caltech, UCLA, UCSD; Columbia, Howard University, MIT, Stanford, UC Berkeley, UC San Francisco, and the University of Washington are also in the program. The new Amgen program will be managed by MIT.
