Amonix Scores $129.4M From Kleiner Perkins, Others

Seal Beach-based Amonix, a designer and manufacturer of concentrated, photovoltaic solar power systems, announced today that it has raised $129.4M in a Series B funding round, led by Kleiner, Perkins, Caufield & Byers. According to Amonix, the funding round also included Adams Street Partners, Angeleno Group, PCG Clean Energy & Technology Fund, Vedanta Capital LP, New Silk Route, The Westly Group, and current investor MissionPoint Capital Partners. Amonix said the funding will go to accellerate deployment of its concentrated photovoltaic solar power systems, and for manufacturing capacity. The funding comes on top of $25M in Series A funding, $15.6M in grant funding from the Department of Energy Solar America Iniative (SAI), and $9.5M in Federal stimulus funds from the Federal Recovery Act.
