    Amp'd Releases Subscriber Numbers

Among widespread speculation on the actual adoption rate of much hyped MVNOs, Amp'd Mobile yesterday released its subscriber numbers, saying that it is "rapidly approaching" 50,000 subscribers to its youth-focused mobile cell phone service. The company said that it added 15,000 of those customers last month, and hopes to have 150,000 subscribers by the end of the year. Amp'd also said that it averages more than $100 a month per user for the service. Amp'd is a venture funded MVNO which is targeting the trendy youth market, and has come under the lens recently for slow adoption rates. The firm has raised over $267M so far in venture capital funding.
