Amp'd Deploys Internet Search Software
Los Angeles-based Amp'd Mobile, the youth targeted MVNO, announced this week that it is integrating Novarra's Internet and Web search software into its handsets. The integration will allow its subscribers to surf the web. Novarra's software reduces web pages for easier viewing on mobile handsets, using the WAP 2.0 protocol for faster delivery of web content. Amp'd is developing a cell phone service oriented around youth, with a focus on trendy content and high bandwidth downloads. The firm is tapping Verizon's EVDO network for its services.
