AOL Buys Weblogs
America Online announced yesterday that it is acquiring Los Angeles-based Weblogs, Inc., a company that provides blogging content and blogs. Weblogs runs 85 blogging sites covering electronics, automobiles, films, travel, and other topics. Terms of the deal were not disclosed. AOL will incorporate the Weblogs site into AOL's network of web sites, and said that Weblogs would become a wholly owned subsidiary with independent editorial control. Weblogs was founded by Jason McCabe Calacanis.
