At The Pool Launches New App, Yeti

Los Angeles-based At The Pool, the startup led by Alex Capecelatro which helps connect people and travelers, is launching a new app today, which it says is called Yeti. According to At The Pool, the new app helps connect travelers to local discussions, so that they can ask questions about things like the best local coffee shops in town, or discuss sights to see. At The Pool said that the new app comes after it discovered that social discovery "really doesn't work". Yeti takes a clue from hot hookup and dating app Tinder, in that users can "swipe left" and "swipe right" to indicate when discussions are interesting and when discussions are now, to help customize the kinds of information it feeds to users.
