August Search Engine Market Numbers Stable

comScore has reported its August 2005 numbers for search engine market share, showing that search engine share of the U.S. audience have remained mostly unchanged from last year. The comScore qSearch numbers compared August 2005 and August 2004 audience reach numbers for the major search engines, showing that Google commanded 37.3% of searchers in August 2005, up from 36.1% last year. Yahoo had a slight slip, dropping from 30.6% of searchers to 29.7%. Microsoft showed a slight gain, from 14.4% to 15.8%. comScore said that more than 5 billion searches were conducted in August, representing 132.5M U.S. Internet visitors.
