AwesomenessTV Gets $3.5M For YouTube Content

A new, Los Angeles based startup focused on developing original media for YouTube, AwesomenessTV, announced Tuesday afternoon that it has raised $3.5M in a Series A investment round. The round was led by MK Capital, and also included Greycroft Venture Partners and New World Ventures, along with Dean Gilbert, Allen DeBevoise, Matt Coffin, Jeremy Zimmer and Michael Kassan. According to the firm, it is creating and distributing original comedy, fashion, sports, music and reality programming for teens and tweens. The firm has its own YouTube channel, Awesomeness TV, which it says has over 75,000 subscribers and over 10 million video views. The company is headed by producer and director Brian Robbins.
