    BakBone Acquires Constant Data


    San Diego-based backup software provider BakBone Software said today that it has acquired Constant Data, a maker of data replication and high availability software. BakBone said that it would pay $5.0M in cash plus assume assets and liabilities of Constant Data resulting in a total transaction cost of $5.5M. Constant Data provides real-time data replication software for Windows, Linux, Solaris, AIX, and Mac OS X. BakBone is a provider of backup software for the enterprise and small and medium size business markets.
