Network router and wireless equipment provider Linksys, which has been part of Cisco since 2003, is now back in Southern California hands, after Playa Vista-based computer accessory maker Belkin said it has completed its acquisition of the company. Belkin said it will manage and maintain Linksys as a separate brand and product portfolio. Belkin said it will continue to bring new Linksys products to market in the near future. Cisco and Belkin agreed to the sale in January. Linksys was started in Irvine by Janie and Victor Tsao in 1988. The firm became a part of Cisco in 2003.
