    Belkin Goes Pre-N

Compton-based computer accessories manufacturer Belkin said this week that it has started to shop wireless Pre-N products. The company has rolled out a new line of products to support the emerging wireless standard, including a router, notebook card, and desktop wireless card. Belkin is tapping Airgo's MIMO technology for the line of products, and is now shipping the products in Mexico. Pre-N products use a preliminary version of the not-yet approved 802.11n standard to implement the MIMO transmission scheme, however is being widely marketed by manufacturers who are begging consumers will adopt pre-standard technology for the speed benefit.
