Blinkx, Movielink Ink Content Deal
Los Angeles-based MovieLink and San Francisco-based blinkx have teamed together on a content distribution agreement where blinkx.tv will allow users to easily find and download films from Movielink. blinkx is known for its a context-sensive search tool which automatically indexes and links content based on what user is viewing on their desktop. The company's new blinkx.tv tool now links to Movielink's library of content, allowing users to view trailers and purchase films from Movielink's library of legally downloadable files. The deal is the latest in a series of deals for Movielink, which recently offered free downloads to Southwest Airlines customers as an introduction to the video-on-demand over broadband service. Movielink is a joint venture of MGM Studios, Paramount, Sony Pictures Entertainment, Universal Studios, and Warner Bros.
