Boingo Buys Washington Wi-Fi Provider

Los Angeles-based Boingo Wireless has acquired another Wi-Fi networking provider, saying Monday that it has purchased the WSDOT Ferries Division (WSF) from Parsons Transportation Group. WSDOT provides Wi-Fi access to the Washington State Ferries ferry fleet. Financial terms of the buy were not disclosed. According to Boingo, the acquisition adds 11 Washington State Ferries terminals, and 15 ferries to its network, which is used by commuters, professionals, and tourists on the ferry system. Boingo said the Wi-Fi network there will allow current subscribers of its service to access the Washington States Ferries network.
