Boingo Powers Google Free Wi-Fi Offer
Westwood-based Boingo Wireless is behind a big promotion announced today by search engine giant Google, where Google will be offering free Wi-Fi to travelers at airports across the country. Google said today that it will offer free wireless at 47 airports, including Las Vegas, San Jose, Boston, Baltimore, Burbank, Houston, Indianapolis, Seattle, Miami, Ft. Lauderdale, Orlando, St. Louis and Charlotte, through January 15th. Google is also working with Advanced Wireless Group and Airport Marketing Income as part of the airport Wi-Fi effort. As a bonus, Google said that Burbank airport will be offering free, airport-wide Wi-Fi indefinately as part of its holiday promotion. Financial details and terms of the agreement between Google and Boingo were not announced. Boingo Wireless operates a network of Wi-Fi access points at airports nationwide, in addition to its network of Wi-Fi access point operators.
