Los Angeles-based Boingo has signed on another sporting venue for its services, saying Wednesday that it has signed up the Atlanta Hawks Philips Arena as a new partner. Boingo said that it will provide wireless services -- including both cellular and Wi-Fi networks--within the areana for fans, ahead of the next NBA season. Financial impact of the win was not disclosed. Boingo said the deal calls for it to design, install, and manage a neutral host cellular distributed antenna system and Wi-Fi network, which will give multiple wireless carriers ability to bolster their data capacity within the arena. The Wi-Fi will be provided for free to fans via sponsors and advertisers.
