Boingo Wireless Selected By LG Uplus

Los Angeles-based Boingo Wireless, the provider of a network of international Wi-Fi hotspots, has scored South Korean mobile phone operator LG Uplus, in a deal to provide Wi-Fi access for LG Uplus customers. The two said that the three year, platform services agreement calls for LG U+ to license Boingo's authentication software on Android platforms, in addition to agreeing to roaming terms on Boingo's network. According to Boingo, the deal will provide more than 400,000 worldwide hotspots for roaming to LG Uplus. Separately, the two have inked a Wi-Fi access agreement, giving Boingo's network to more than 40,000 LG Uplus hotspots in South Korea. Financial details of the two deals were not announced.
