Brighter.com Gets $15M More For Dental Service

Los Angeles-based Brighter.com, the dental care startup headed by startup veteran Jake Winebaum, said this morning that it has raised $15M in a Series C funding round, to expand to new markets. The new funding was led by Tenaya Capital, and also included Mayfield Fund and Benchmark. As part of the funding, Stewart Gollmer of Tenaya Capital will join the company's board of directors. Brighter.com offers up a dental care service which provides pre-negotiated rates at local dentists, aimed at the 47 percent of Americans the company says lack dental insurance and must pay out of pocket for their dental care. Bright.com's site lets users get upfront pricing details before booking an appointment with a dentist. More information »
