    Broadcom, MicroTune Settle Patent Dispute

Irvine-based Broadcom (www.broadcom.com) and Texas-based Microtune announced that the two companies have settled a long running patent and antitrust dispute over analog processing components. The two companies agreed to drop all litigation, and cross-license their patents. According to a Microtune SEC filing, Broadcom paid $22.5M to Microtune to settle the case, and will pay royalties on Microtune's dual conversion tuner products.
