    Broadcom Announces 10GbE Transceiver


    Irvine-based Broadcom has announced a new 10 Gigabit Ethernet device for the high speed networking market. The firm's new 10GbE physical layer IC is used to connect optical networks via the 10 Gigabit Ethernet networking standard. Broadcom said that its new DSP-based 10GbE serial transciever works with both mluti-mode and signle-mode fiber infrastructure, and is targeted at being integrated into Ethernet switch and controller products and ASICs.
