Irvine-based Broadcom said Sunday evening that it has begun shipping one of its power management chips with Samsung Electronics. Broadcom said that its power management unit (PMU), system-on-a-chip has been incorporated into Samsung's SGH-3750 mobile phone, which is now shopping in volume production. Financial size of the design win were not disclosed. Broadcom's power management chips are used to manage batter life and power consumption of mobile pho nes and other mobile devices.
