Broadcom Gets Nokia Design Win
Irvine-based Broadcom is reporting today that Nokia has selected the firm's basedband processor and companion chips for future EDGE mobile phones. Details of the design win were not announced, however Broadcom said that Nokia will use its advanced single-chip cellular baseband processor and its companion power management unit for selected future mobile phones. The win is for Broadcom's BCM21331 single-chip multimedia processor, which the firm announced in February.
