Irvine-based Broadcom said today that the firm has integrated AMD's Digital Television business into its operations, the result of the firm's October acquisition. According to Broadcom, it will be demonstrating a number of combined technology as CES in January, based on technology from the acquisition. AMD's Digital Television business developed set-top box and digital television processors. Broadcom said the product demonstrations will include advanced video coding (AVC) products and related hardware/software reference platforms which use technology from both the acquired AMD DTV businesses and Broadcom's prior product lines. Broadcom paid $141.5M in cash for AMD's Digital TV operations in October.
