Buy.com Rolls Its Own HD TV
Aliso Viejo-based online retailer Buy.com is launching a new, high definition broadband television series to promote its product lineup. Buy.com announced today that it will launch BuyTV, a weekly, HD shopping series available via broadband for download by end users. The weekly series will include 30 minutes of product reviews, interviews, and entertainment segments. The company is tapping Instant Media, a provider of HD IPTV technology for its player. The TV series is the latest media foray for the firm, which tried to roll its own print magazine in 2002, later moving that platform to an all-digital format.
