CA, Quest Settle Patent Lawsuits
Irvine-based Quest Software and New York-based management software Computer Associates said this morning that the two companies have settled a patent lawsuit filed by CA against Quest. CA had claimed that Quest had infringed on CA's intellectual property rights in its database administration products. According to the companies, Quest will pay $16M plus royalties in a non-exclusive licensing agreement for the rights to the IP. The settlement removes a preliminary injunction which had prohibited Quest for marketing or licensing its Quest Central for DB2 database management product.
