CalAmp Completes Dataradio Buy For $54M
Oxnard-based CalAmp, a provider of wireless communications hardware and systems, has completed its acquisition of Dataradio, a Canadian supplier of advanced wireless systems. The deal was worth $54M. Dataradio provides wireless data systems for the public safety, infrastructure and industrial systems markets. According to CalAmp, Dataradio has revenues of $32M for the 12-month period ending April 30th. CalAmp said that the acquisition will give it a critical mass of product development resources and market presence in the public safety market. The acquisition adds 175 employees to CalAmp, in Montreal, Minnesota, and Georgia.
