CalAmp Settles Another Patent Suit
Oxnard-based CalAmp has settles a patent infringement suit it had outstanding against iMetrik Solution, a provider of vehicle location services, the firm disclosed this morning. Financial impact of the deal were not disclosed. CalAmp had previously sued iMetrik over patent infringement of two patents it owns related to vehicle location systems. The suit was part of three lawsuits filed against competitors in the vehicle location tracking business, PROCON Inc., Skywatch GPS LLC, and iMETRIK Solutions. The suits were the result of CalAmp's acquisition last year of Aircept Vehicle Tracking from AirIQ. The lawsuit against PROCON was resolved in March, also in favor of CalAmp.
