THE RISE OF AUGMENTED REALITY AND ITS FUTURE APPLICATIONS
Location:Los Angeles
THE RISE OF AUGMENTED REALITY AND ITS FUTURE APPLICATIONS. Augmented Reality combines the digital and real world, allowing you to see digital information and images over existing real life objects. But what are the applications for brands and consumers, and how can we utilize this technology to learn from these immersive experiences? Join us for an evening of engaging conversation to discuss the rise of augmented reality and its future applications. We've partnered with Los Angeles based interactive hologram technology company VNTANA, to bring together a diverse group of individuals to discuss new ways for brands to use augmented reality to create innovative experiences, while providing them advanced data collection capabilities. Additionally, the panel will discuss what VC’s are looking for when investing in AR companies as well as what large brands look for to partner with AR companies to bring new and innovative ideas to consumers. Before and after the event, attendees will get a chance to experience VNTANA’s holograms along with other AR applications. Entrepreneurship in Pasadena: The need for Immigration Reform
Location:Pasadena
Entrepreneurship in Pasadena: The need for Immigration Reform. Pasadena is home to several institutions of innovation that draw talented individuals from all over the world, including Caltech, JPL, and a host of fast-growing tech companies based in the city. With the H-1B application opening up on April 1st, we want to center the conversation on the barriers immigrant entrepreneurs and technologists must face when dealing with the legal immigration system in this country. Every year, there is a lottery for 85,000 H-1B visas; last year, 233,000 people applied in a 6-day window before the application was closed. Only about 360f applicants were granted an opportunity to contribute their brilliance to our country in 2015. With so much talent readily available, what can we do to better welcome these talented students and individual who arrive in the U.S. with a dream, and allow more individuals the opportunity to move our country forward with new and innovative ideas?
