| Intercept 1961 - The Birth of the Soviet Missile Defense. IEEE Aerospace & Electronic Systems Society Chapter, Dr. Mike Gruntman (USC) will introduce us to the events that led to the first nonnuclear intercepts of long-range ballistic missile warheads in 1961 and will describe the technical characteristics of early air and missile defense systems.
