India, the world's largest democracy, offers an important growth market for American tech companies. Investment, intellectual property, R&D and innovation are starting to flow in both directions: almost every blue chip venture capital partnership now has an Indian operation. Equally important, Indian investors such as Baring have begun looking to the US for opportunities.
