San Diego-based CareFusion, a firm that develops a wide range of medical devices, said today that it is paying $225M in cash for Ontario, California-based Medegen. Medegen develops needleless access valves and disposable IV sets that are used to deliver intravenous medication to patients. According to CareFusion, the acquisition will add to the firm's existing infection prevention portfolio.
