CheapAir.com: Bitcoin Sales Up 74 Percent Due To Record High

Calabasas-based CheapAir.com, an online travel site which accepts Bitcoin for payment for airplane flights and hotels, said on Thursday that it has seen a surge in purchases using Bitcoin, as the electronic currency hits new highs. According to CheapAir.com, it has seen a 74 percent year-over-year increase in Bitcoin sales over the last six months, which it attributes to the rising value of Bitcoin--eacho of which is now worth over $1270. ChearAir.com has been accepting Bitcoin for the purchase of airfare since November of 2013; the company says it has now processed just short of $15M in Bitcoin payments for flights and hotels since 2013.
