ChemNavigator Acquired By Sigma-Aldrich

San Diego-based ChemNavigator, a developer of informatics tools for the pharmaceutical industry, has been acquired by scientific equipment firm Sigma-Aldrich. Financial terms of the buy were not disclosed. According to Sigma-Aldrich, the buy will add ChemNavigator's suite of virtual screening and selection tools, plus a searchable database of over 60 million chemical compounds to its offerings. ChemNavigator was backed by CastleRock Venture, Chitung Venture, Life Science Venture Fund, Source One Ventures Fund, Taurus Enterprises, United Overseas Bank, and YFY Global Investment, having raised funding back in 2000.
