Cie Names Wavemaker's Trent Johnson As SVP

Irvine-based Cie, the "venture studio" formerly known as Cie Digital Labs, has tapped Wavemaker Partners Executive-In-Resident Trent Johnson as its new Senior Vice President. According to Cie, Trent Johnson will head up its corporate ventures practice, serving as SVP of Corporate Ventures. Cie said the appointment comes as part of a strategic partnership with Wavemaker, and also said that Johnson will continue to advise Wavemaker Partners portfolio companies in the U.S. and Southeast Asia. Johnson had previously served at such companies as Slalom, Avasant, ISG, and KPMG Consulting. Cie said the addition of Johnson will help it in the areas of scaling its venture building, and its focus on private equity and corporate clients.
