CircleUp Ties With Eteamz
Newport Beach-based CircleUp, publisher of an online group communications and payment service, revealed Tuesday that its technology is powering eteamz's money collection feature. eteamz specializes in designing custom Web sites for amateur athletic teams, which, in turn, use those sites to help collect money from players and parents for everyday team expenses. According to CircleUp, its SmartPay app reduces the workload of that unlucky coach or parent who has been tasked with collecting funds from team members and their parents. CircleUp explained that SmartPay, which debuts today on all eteamz Web sites, allows team members and parents to pay the "Team Mom" directly by using credit or debit cards. Financial impact of the win with eteamz was not disclosed; CircleUp launched its online payment service last week.
