Cisco Systems has purchased SyPixx, a Connecticut-based provider of video surveillance software and hardware, for $51M. Sypixx has offices in Carlsbad, California. Cisco said that the acquisition will support the deployment and control of new security applications from the firm. Sypixx developed products for the delivery of broadcast-quality video, audio, and data across standard Ethernet and IP Networks.
