    Cisco Completes NetSift Acquisition

Cisco announced yesterday that it has completed its acquisition of San Diego-based NetSift, a developer of packet processing technology. Cisco had announced the acquisition of the startup in June for $30M. NetSift's technology will be used by Cisco for deep packet processing, including modular switching in its core platforms. NetSift is a spinoff of UC San Diego and was backed by Enterprise Partners.
