Conexant Ramps Staff India
Newport Beach-based Conexant is continuing its expansion in India, as the company announced that it has added a new President and COO of its Indian operations. The company said that it named Shiva Gowni as president of India Operations, and Naresh Malipeddi as COO. The company said that it expects to have a staff over approximately 700 at its locations in Noida, Hyderabad, Pune, and Bangalore by the end of September. Conexant has been aggressively expanding its offshore operations, after it acquired Paxonet Communications, and offshore outsourcing firm last December. At that time, Conexant said that it had 300 employees in India. Dwight W. Decker, chairman of Conexant said that the expansion is a focal point of its strategic intiative to leverage lower-cost offshore resources.
