Convertro, the new advertising analytics and optimization technology firm headed by Jeff Zwelling, has released a new product today, saying it has launched a product which helps figure out attribution of such things as Twitter streams, YouTube channels, Pinterest pins, and Facebook to sales, in addition to tracking of display advertising, paid search, and other online advertisements. The firm said its product provides "attribution credit" to those assets--which it calls owned media assets--even though those third party sites do not support first party analytics tags. The firm gave the example of a Pinterest "pin" of a Christmas card, and its tracking that found that a retailer received 6,815 visits and 65 direct sales due to that one "pin". Convertro is trying to better track conversions and visitors, and attribute those to different online advertising and outreach. Zwelling is a serial entrepreneur, who has a number of very successful companies under his belt, including YLighting (acquired by a private equity firm) and EchoSign (acuqired by Adobe).
