Crownpeak Raises $6M

Los Angeles-based Crownpeak, a provider of hosted, web content management software, has raised a new round of venture capital, socalTECH has learned. Crownpeak CEO Jim Howard confirmed the round, saying that the company raised $6M. The round was led by SunAmerica Ventures, and also included prior investors Sigma Partners and Altos Ventures. Troy Fukumoto from SunAmerica Ventures will join the company's board along with the funding. Crownpeak's web content management software is used by companies to manage their web sites, and allows online marketers and companies to manage content without requiring web developers; the company's clients include Hyundai, HCA (Hospital Corporation of America), Crain Communications, the ACLU, the State of Virginia, and others.
