Cubic Wins $33M Contract From Miami Transit

San Diego-based Cubic Transportation Systems, one of the business units of Cubic Corporation, said yesterday that it has been awarded a $33M contract from the Miami-Dade County Department of Transportation and Public Works (DTPW). The company said it will help modernize Miami Transit's revenue management systems and back office services, my migrating them to the cloud, adding contactless payment and Near Field Communications (NFC), and other features to the transit system. Cubic had been the contractor for Miami-Dade's original EASY Card System install in 2009. Cubic siaid the upgrade includes a significant number of technology enhancement, including mobile payments through ApplePay, AndroidPay, and Masterpass, support for AppleWatch and Samsung Gear, a new mobile app and mobile ticketing, movement of the back office system to MIcrosoft Azure, and more.
