Cyber Rain Raises $792K

Westlake Village-based Cyber-Rain, a developer of smart irrigation controllers, has raised $792,454 in an equity funding raise, according to a regulatory filing by the firm this week. No details on the funding have been released by the firm. Cyber-Rain has previously raised funding from Funk Ventures, Momentum Ventures, a various angel investors, including the Tech Coast Angels. Funk Ventures' Andy Funk remains on the board, as does Momentum Ventures' Matt Ridenour, according to the filing. Cyber-Rain's smart irrigation controllers are used by commercial and home users to adjust how much water is applied to landscaping, depending on the weather. The system, which helps reduce water bills and usage, connects to a PC through a USB port, and also automatically checks water forecasts to adjust watering schedules depending on that forecast.
