Cylance Adds Citi Ventures To $100M Series D

Irvine-based Cylance said on Thursday that it has added strategic investor Citi Ventures, to the list of its investors in its recently announced, $100M Series D funding. Citi joins Insight Venture Partners and Blackstone Tactical Opportunities in the big funding round. Cylance, led by cybersecurity veteran Stuard McClure, is using artificial intelligence to predict, identify, and stop malware and other threats to both enterprise and personal computers. McClure was the founder of Foundstone, and was most recently an executive at McAfee. The new funding reportly values the company at over $1 billion, putting it into the select group of Southern California unicorns.
