El Segundo-based satellite entertainment firm DIRECTV has lost its President and CEO, Chase Carey, to News Corporation, the firm said Wednesday, as Carey returned to News Corp. to work for Rupert Murdoch. Carey had joined DIRECTV in 2003 from News Corp. According to DIRECTV, the firm's board has formed a committee of directors to find a new President and Chief Executive Officer. Larry Hunter, the firm's Executive Vice President of Legal, HR, and Administration, has been appointed interim CEO of the company. Carey replaces New. Corp's Peter Chernin.
